This amazing cut of meat came to me beautifully wrapped and packaged. The flavor and tenderness was what I envisioned when I watched countless videos on Wagyu beef and preparation. If you like steak, maybe the best price/quality ratio available (I got 5 8oz portions, froze and pulled as needed from the freezer). Flat iron is a good juicy and very "steak-y" cut normally, but the wagyu introduces much better marbling which makes the mouthfeel and chew resemble a regular prime steak of a much more expensive cut, like a rib-eye, but even better. Perfect mid rare and even rare, grilled or pan roasted. Thanks double 8!
I received my flat iron steaks last week and they have a beautiful marble to them. I grilled one last night (I couldn't wait anymore for the rest of the family to get back from vacation) and it was amazing. The most tender flat iron I've ever had. The knife easily slid through and it almost melted in my mouth. I seasoned with coarse kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper let sit for 15 minutes and grilled for 5 minutes each side directly over medium heat then let sit for 5 minutes covered. I'll definitely be buying more. Customer service is outstanding. One steak was a little undersized, so they threw in an additional small one. Top notch service and steaks.
Never in our lives have we tasted such flavor in a steak, it literally melted in our mouths. The steak arrived promptly on dry ice and in beautiful packaging. Double 8 even threw in a free package of sausage much to our delight. It truly was an incredible culinary experience. We certainly will order again.
