Double 8 Cattle Company is one of only a handful of farms raising 100% Fullblood Wagyu in the United States. 100% Fullblood Wagyu differ from most Wagyu being raised in the States, which often fall into the categories of Crossbred (F1, F2, F3) or Purebred (F4). The term "American Wagyu" has been adopted as marketing term for Wagyu beef that is Crossbred or Purebred Wagyu.
At Double 8 Cattle Company, we only raise 100% Fullblood Japanese Black Wagyu. Our cattle are direct descendants of Japanese Wagyu with unmixed ancestry. They are certified and registered with the American Wagyu Association, and their DNA can traced to their original ancestors in Japan. Our Wagyu have never been crossbred with other cattle breeds, such as Angus.
I ordered 4 of the flat irons. They weighed between 2.3 and 2.7lbs. All of the displayed great marbling. They were not as tender of smaller ones i have had, but i think thats a trade off for a larger more deeply marbled cut of meat. To be fair on the second one i made, the center was a little on the rare side, which was cook's error not the meat. Amazing value. Perfect for a dinner party, or steak salad the next day :). I have tried other sites and had some from my local butcher. These are the best hands down. 100% full blood wagyu is the real deal. I will be buying them again.
I’m in trouble, I fed this to my children and now the bar has been set. The best steak I’ve had and it was the worst cut usually. I’m definitely going to order the a5 ribeye next. So glad I found you! This was my dad’s favorite cut and he passed away on the 25th right before thanksgiving. We celebrated his life and cooked the steak. Four days later we celebrated the conception of our 6th child. This is our party steak and you are the provider!
I am not beef crazy. I had waguy at few restaurants and I loved it. When I came across this web side I wanted to bring the waguy test back home. I ordered 4 of those steaks. It easy and fast to cook and really it melts in your mouth. The meat is so natural, all I added was pink salt and some rosemary when I prepared it. I know I will be buying more again.
I have ordered Chuck steak, flank steak and flat iron steak from them. Great Quality for the price. Have to remember this is not supermarket steaks.
