FIRST STEP
Take the Fullblood Wagyu pulled beef out of the freezer, and place it in the refrigerator 24 hours before starting this recipe.
PREPARING THE TURNOVERS
Preheat your grill to 400°F.
Take the Fullblood Wagyu pulled beef (the beef is pre-cooked) out of the packaging, and place it in a mixing bowl.
NOTE: The beef can be warmed up a bit in order to increase pliability.
Pour the BBQ sauce into the bowl with the Wagyu pulled beef, and mix until combined.
Place the puff pastry sheet on a cutting board, and cut it into 2-inch segments.
Transfer the segments to a baking sheet that has been sprayed with Pam Cooking Spray.
Fold out the sides of each pastry segment like you would a brochure.
Layer each opened puff pastry segment with shredded mozzarella cheese, the BBQ sauce-covered Wagyu pulled beef, and another layer of shredded mozzarella cheese.
Then fold the sides of the puff pastry over the filling.
In a small bowl, beat the egg, and add the milk. Mix until combined. This is your egg wash.
Using a basting brush, thoroughly coat each filled puff pastry with the egg wash.
Then, coat the filled puff pastries with your BBQ rub of choice.
Place the baking sheet with the Wagyu beef turnovers on the grill.
Cook for 15-20 minutes or until the turnovers are golden brown.
FINAL STEPS
Once the turnovers have finished cooking, take the baking sheet off the grill.
Allow the Wagyu beef turnovers to rest for 5 minutes.
Garnish them with cilantro leaves (optional), serve, enjoy!
